Position Focus :
This is full time Research Program Manager position will work within the Yale School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry and report directly to the director of the lab.
Responsible for day-to-day oversight and management of all aspects of the research program according to study protocol specifications.
Responsible for database management which may include database design with Principal Investigator (PI) directives, developing survey in REDCap software and data dictionaries.
Maintain program-related databases and prepare protocol-related reports. Monitoring project timelines and budgets, ensuring project progress, and assisting the Principal Investigator in monitoring project developments, including implementing changes as needed under the direction of the Principal Investigator;
Responsible for Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions, correspondence, and regulatory binders, including minor administrative amendments.
Working with the Principal Investigator to ensure compliance with all federal and university requirements, including the submission of IRB protocols, modifications, and renewals.
Assist with job posting, interviewing, and hiring research staff members. Coordination of research participants recruitment and follow-ups.
Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and data integrity of patient information, which may include medical information. Preparing study progress reports for sponsored projects.
Performing data collection and study methods, including maintaining recruitment materials and assisting with survey implementation efforts, as well as providing support to ongoing data management efforts.
Escalating issues to the Principal Investigator in a timely manner In all work, supports YSN diversity and inclusion values and commitments .
Essential Duties include carries out research within the scope of the established study protocol. Adheres to all human subjects regulations as defined by Yale University and the federal government that pertain to research studies.
Develops criteria for admission of study subjects based on goals and objectives of project. Determines potential sources of funding and prospective partnerships.
Evaluates feasibility of accepting potential projects through analysis of staffing needs, resource requirements, financial costs, and current planned capacity of group.
Negotiates contracts and / or changes with funder. Develops original HIC / IRB submissions. Based on knowledge of science and research goals, collaborates with PIs on major revisions and contributes to scientific protocols.
Plans and implements changes. Develops forms, questionnaires and the application of research techniques; writes procedures manuals for data collection and coding.
Responsible for the documentation and transmission of study data. Ensures that report forms are accurately documented and completed in a timely manner at each site location.
Works independently to develop manage and organize multi site studies. Serves as primary coordinator between University, non-Yale collaborators, pharmaceutical companies, HIC, IRB and funding sources.
Performs descriptive and multivariate statistical analyses of data, using computer software. Designs and implements quality control measures to ensure accurate collection and processing of data.
Contributes in-depth, original thought and relevance to written reports and to the writing of abstracts and manuscripts.
Essential Duties
1. Develops and implements research operations to carry out specific long term field studies. 2. Hires, trains and supervises field staff providing direction in research protocol, subject recruitment, enrollment and obtaining consent from identified subjects.
3. Develops complex data management systems to incorporate significant data acquired during all phases of the study; reviews progress and assures accuracy and compliance of data being acquired and stored.
Generates regular and ad hoc reports for analysis of study integrity. 4. Provides continuous feedback on study progress, and contributes to complex development of annual reports, statistical reporting and protocol design.
5. May perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
Master’s degree in relevant field and two years related and demonstrated experience or the equivalent combination of education and demonstrated experience.

Required Skill / Ability 2 :
Demonstrated proficiency in project management, including budgeting, planning, execution, delivery, quality assurance, and reporting.
Proven research experience with study protocols, principles, and procedures.

Essential attention to detail, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Excellent ability to work independently and balance multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.

Capability to work in a fast-paced work environment, multi-task, and exercise flexibility.
Required Skill / Ability 5 :
Strong working knowledge of personal computers with the ability to effectively use software for word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, email, calendar, databases and has experience working with project management software.
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills :
Master’s Degree in a related discipline and two years of demonstrated experience or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated experience.
