As a Procurement Manager, you'll play a vital role in securing the equipment and services we need to bring clean energy projects to life.
The Role
We are searching for a seasoned Procurement Manager with 5+ years of experience to join our growing team. You'll be responsible for all aspects of the procurement process for our projects, from sourcing and negotiation to contract management and vendor relationship building.
This is a strategic role that requires a deep understanding of the clean energy sector, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to manage complex projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for utility-scale wind, solar, energy storage, and transformer supplies, along with related construction services.
- Conduct market research, identify qualified vendors, and manage the RFP (Request for Proposal) process.
- Lead contract negotiations to secure the best possible terms for Scout Clean Energy.
- Manage vendor relationships, ensuring on-time delivery, quality control, and adherence to project specifications.
- Oversee contract administration, including risk mitigation and change order management.
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders across Engineering, Construction, and Project Management teams.
- Stay current on market trends and identify opportunities to optimize procurement strategies and reduce costs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, ideally within the clean energy sector.
- Proven track record of successfully negotiating and managing contracts for complex projects.
- Strong understanding of commercial terms, pricing models, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in managing and motivating a team (a plus).
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and procurement software (e.g., SAP Ariba).
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
