DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The loading dock is responsible for hand loading windows and doors for outbound customer loads or internal transfers between Silverline locations.
Additionally, the loading dock is responsible to for unloading windows and doors from other customer locations, moving windows from production lines to loading dock, and staging windows in proper lanes for loading.
The Associate role is expected to be able to complete all jobs within the staging and loading areas of the shipping department.
- Hand load windows and doors onto trailers according to manifest and consistently to the quality and safety standards established
- Unload windows and doors and stage in correct locations on dock according to the quality and safety standards established
- Ability to load or unload trailers at rate of 150 cube / hour or greater according to the quality and safety standards
- Utilize tugger, when necessary, to pull windows and doors from production lines and place carts in the proper staging lanes.
Scan windows to correct staging lane upon delivery
- Must be certified on PIT (Powered Industrial Trucks) and Tuggers
- Willing and able to train new hires on all aspects of loading / unloading trailers consistent with the quality and safety standards established
- Must be able to present T2 board, understanding the metrics and issues to convey to the team (and T4 group if needed)
- Displays the capability to trouble shoot issues that occur on the dock (MIA material, quality concerns, etc )
Qualifications
- Forklift experience preferred
- Computer skills suitable to fulfill job responsibilities
- Dependability / punctuality
- Ability to read a tape measure
- Basic reading and math skills are preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
- Perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and stand for long periods
- Possess communication, teamwork, problem solving, and leadership skills
- Detail oriented
- Must be 18 years or older to apply
