Moe’s Original BBQ is hiring a Kitchen Team Member. As a full-time employee you can expect to make $27-29 an hour (NOTE : this includes your hourly wage plus TIPS) plus we offer 401k and health insurance.
What makes Moe's BBQ different, you ask?
We pay our Kitchen and Front of the House employees at the same "living wage" pay scale. BTW we LOVE tipping out our kitchen employees as much as they LOVE getting TIPS.
Pooling TIPS with the kitchen has fostered a team environment in which our kitchen employees are treated (and paid) as equals.
And in addition to paying a living wage, we discuss (and fix!) issues constantly, cross-train our employees, build "slack" into our schedules and focus on work-life balance for our team.
Depending on your experience, you'll receive a base hourly rate plus an average of $8-9 / hour in TIPS. 401K and Health Insurance are also available for full-timers.
TIPS can be HUGE in the catering season - frequently upwards of $30 / hour on big wedding weekends!
You should know that we've transformed how we run our restaurants by paying a "Living Wage" based on a book Called "The Good Jobs Strategy".
Our hospitality company - which includes Moe's BBQ in Bangor & South Portland and Woodman's Bar & Grill in Orono - has substantially invested in our employees (to the tune of about $300k more in wages) and have created sustainable positions that pay more than just a "living wage".
In return for our investment, we expect our employees to be engaged in the business by helping to improve food quality, customer service and operations.
This will be the fun part for you as a Team Member. We don't want "work" to be covering understaffed shifts and making up for a lack of good employees.
