POSITION / JOB TITLE : Data Network Engineer
DEPARTMENT : Engineering
REQUIREMENTS : Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States on a full-time basis for any position.

As a Data Engineer at Omnitech, you would qualify for multiple labels including business intelligence consultant, data warehouse consultant, data acquisition (ETL) consultant, database administrator consultant, master data management consultant, data analyst, data architect, data scientist to name a few.

DESIRED SKILLS : (The applicable candidate must possess a majority of the following.)
- Proven T-SQL skills
- Proven experience with SQL Server design, deployment, and development
- SQL Server performance monitoring, optimization, and troubleshooting experience
- Understanding of performance optimization, data warehousing (star schema and Kimball methodologies)
- Understanding of common data extraction techniques across a diverse set of sources including structured and non-structured data
- Experience with data cleansing and normalization
- Proven experience with developing standards and following best practices to ensure data confidentiality, integrity, and availability
- Proven experience with networking technologies, including design, deployment, troubleshooting, and maintenance
- Proven experience with a layered approach to troubleshooting issues
- Proven experience with information security-related best practices, frameworks, regulations, and technologies
- Proven experience with storage technologies (SAN, NAS, iSCSI, FCoE, etc.)
- Experience with Big Data technology and strong, understanding of SQL Server Data Warehouse
- Translate business requirements and technical designs into well-developed solutions that meet client business goals
- Ability to explain the pros and cons of architectural decisions
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies as required
- Design and implement technology practices, guidelines and repeatable processes
- Provide technical assistance and cross-training to other team members and clients
- Assist in pre-sales, scoping, and requirements gathering process
- Ability to work closely with other project team members such as sales analysts, project managers, and software engineers
REQUIREMENTS :
- At least 5+ years of enterprise infrastructure experience, including Microsoft Azure, Entra, Exchange Online and SAAS applications as well as on-premises equivalents
- A Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, or a similar analytical degree
- T-SQL, SQL Server
- Desire for continuous learning and pursuit of professional certifications
- Proven ability to consult with and mentor others
