Responsibilities
- Responsible for the maintenance and repairs of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and other mechanical systems in the building.
- Evaluate systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed.
- Develop maintenance procedures and schedules.
- Assist with departmental budget estimates and costs of specific repair projects.
- Install, assemble, and test new machines and equipment.
- Schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance and service for each piece of equipment.
- Inspect machines regularly for signs of malfunctions, including visual and sound inspections.
- Use a variety of power and hand tools to perform job functions.
- Complete repairs and parts replacement.
- Repair, install, adjust, or maintain machines or vehicles.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Trade school completion (preferred)
- Extensive knowledge of building systems including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Basic math skills
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for many hours
- Communication skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects and climb ladders
- Experience using cleaning equipment and cleaning solutions
Environment
- Long and varied hours required occasionally
- Ability to work mandatory physical inventory
- Ability to work in extreme hot or cold environment
- Ability to work in noisy environments
- Ability to work in dusty conditions
