Yaskawa Solectria Solar is seeking a PV Sales Engineer in our Midwest Territory. The PV Sales Engineer will be asked to achieve assigned sales quota on an annual basis by managing existing customer relationships (Direct and Distributor) and by identifying, cultivating, and closing new business opportunities with companies involved in the design, development, construction, and financing of large solar PV projects or project portfolios.

This is an individual contributor role with authority to create and execute a plan for generating $10M+ revenue annually by targeting and pursuing established and new customers for Solectria’s PV inverter and PV + storage solutions.

More specifically, the PV Sales Engineer will :

  • Establish network of industry connections and relationships in the Commercial and Utility market segments of solar the PV energy industry in N. America.
  • Manage and grow existing customer / buyer relationships.
  • Identify, qualify, and acquire new customers for all commercial and utility-scale solar & storage products and solutions.
  • Formulate customer specific solutions including the generation of project proposals, quotes, and supply agreements.
  • Forecast sales revenue and report monthly on opportunity status and progress.
  • Collaborate with general management to develop effective sales and marketing strategies.
  • Develop a multi-year strategic plan, with ongoing responsibility for its implementation, including the related budgeting and the achievement of objectives.
  • Anticipate market trends and assist product management team in adapting to changing market conditions and customer needs.
  • Travel up to 50% of time.

The ideal candidate will possess an engineering degree and 5-10 years of successful experience in a technical / industrial sales role and history of achieving quota.

The perfect candidate will also possess :

  • 5+ years of direct experience in non-residential solar PV industry preferred.
  • Superior written and verbal communication and analytical skills.
  • Proven history of developing strong and effective internal and customer relationships.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in complex and / or sensitive situations.
  • Strong personal motivation with entrepreneurial mindset.
