Kuakini Medical Center Description of Position
Responsible for ensuring that all patientsadmitted as inpatient or observation status have appropriate authorization(s)covering the stay, or that denied days are properly communicated anddocumented.
A critical aspect of thisposition is to understand the revenue cycle and the importance of evaluatingand securing all appropriate financial resources to maximizereimbursement.
Collaborates with CareManagement and Patient Financial Counselors to ensure that all status updatesand patient communication is performed promptly.
Ensures compliance with requirements of Medicare,Medicaid, commercial insurance, statutory regulations and company policiesgoverning health care services and reimbursements.
Qualifications and Requirements
High School diplomaor equivalent is required. An AssociateDegree in business or related field is preferred. At least two (2) to three (3) years workexperience with processing claims with Medicare, Medicaid, commercial healthinsurance, managed care, worker compensation or other health plans ispreferred.
Must have a working knowledge of themanaged care environment, third party reimbursement, hospital and communityservices and hospital and health care policies.
Priorbilling or revenue cycle experience is preferred; or any combination ofeducation and experience which would provide the necessary knowledge, skillsand abilities to meet the minimum qualifications to perform the essential functionsof this position.
Starting Hourly Rate $23.78
