Office of Industry Development and Market Analysis :

The Office of Industry Development & Market Analysis is responsible for the critical assessment of the evolving utility industry and development of strategies that most benefit Florida’s citizens.

The office analyzes developing policies and prepares recommendations for implementing state and federal laws, including strategy alternatives for consideration by the Commission.

The office serves as a technical liaison with the Florida Legislature and state agencies, including the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ Office of Energy.

Also, the office monitors and advises the Commission on Congressional activities and federal agency actions which may impact Florida consumers and utilities.

IDM also handles issues that involve the wholesale oversight of the wireline telecommunications industry, area code relief and other numbering issues, as well as oversight of the Lifeline Assistance and Telecommunications Relay programs.

Description of Job Duties :

The Public Utility Analyst I position is within the Office of Industry Development and Market Analysis. The analyst will be involved in researching policy issues and developing reports and recommendations to be presented to the Commission.

The analyst will participate in special projects involving a broad range of complex and controversial regulatory policy issues affecting all utility industries.

The analyst will also assist in monitoring and evaluating policy activities in relevant state and federal proceedings and proposed legislation at the state level.

Minimum Qualifications :

A bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major course of study preferably in : accounting, economics, finance, public administration, public policy, or business administration with an emphasis in accounting, economics, or finance courses, or courses that are relevant to the listed job duties.

Employment Eligibility :
