Job Summary

This 75% position is for a Project Coordinator (Project Policy Analyst 2 ) role within the Early Psychosis Clinical and Research Programs at the UC Davis Medical Center.

The Early Psychosis Clinical and Research Program seeks to provide training and technical assistance (TTA) as well as outcomes data collection support to early psychosis (EP) programs across California.

This program involves collaborations across the state as well as with other US and international entities. The incumbent will assist UCD and collaborating team members with the implementation, operation, and data collection for EP programs, particularly with regard to peer support services and meaningful representation of lived experience within service settings and ensure the network of EPI-CAL programs receive specialized training to provide high quality, evidence-based services.

The incumbent will perform a range of duties, including scheduling meetings, sending communications, tracking training attendance, organizing calendars, tracking time allocated to various contracts to report for invoicing, event planning assistance, assisting faculty and staff during events that require travel (within or outside California), facilitating meetings, taking meeting notes, managing billing, ordering, and reimbursement requests, and other administrative support for the activities.

The incumbent will play a key advocacy role on the Lived Experience Integration team, an initiative of EPI-CAL. The incumbent will support team projects such as the Lived Experience Advisory Council, internal quality review, various research projects, and use social media platforms, such as Discord, to disseminate knowledge related to inclusion of mental health service user perspectives in clinical research and practice.

The incumbent will also have opportunities to help develop and implement research protocols.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates degree OR at least 2 years of demonstrated experience working in a project coordination / administrative role.
  • Direct personal experience in treatment for psychosis
  • Demonstrated experience with project coordination, including monitoring progress toward deadlines and ensuring goals are met.
  • Direct experience with mental health advisory councils either as a member of a council or an advisor for a council.
  • Experience with managing calendars and schedules and coordinating meetings, events, and logistics. Knowledge and experience with online meeting platforms, such as Zoom, Skype, or Microsoft Teams.
  • Writing skills to initiate, compose, word process, format, proofread and edit various professional documents and correspondences for distribution to a variety of audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new platforms and software.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and record actionable items and other tasks from meetings and meeting notes, and to follow up on outstanding tasks.
  • Strong communication and intrapersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and problem-solve where needed.
  • Organizational skills and ability to determine workload priorities to enable timely completion of tasks.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience with various software programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience and working knowledge of mental health practice, research, science, and programs related to psychosis care.
  • Experience reviewing clinical research projects and / or training materials.

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences has approximately 65 residents in six residency training programs and 90 faculty and staff psychiatrists and psychologists at the UC Davis Medical Center and the Northern California VA Health System.
