Position Summary

Responsible for coordination of inspection and testing of various building life safety, critical branch, and utility systems in an academic medical center setting that includes all campus buildings and satellite buildings as assigned.

Testing and inspections include, but are not limited to; ATS, battery lights, med gas, pressure control, fire alarm and suppression, and control valves.

Ability to communicate with campus customers and Technicians required.

2. Ability to follow written and oral instructions required.

3. Ability to guide and train junior Facilities Compliance Technicians on necessary steps taken to inspect and test a variety of life safety, critical branch, and utility systems required.

4. In-depth knowledge and application of a variety of city, state, and federal regulations required.

5. Ability to effectively test and inspect complex utility and building life safety systems required.

6. Knowledge and understanding of healthcare specific regulatory bodies and requirements including TJC, SFM, and CMS required.

Preferred Education : High School education or equivalent If any degree / training is preferred, please specify the type : Preferred Experience : Experience operating and inspecting emergency power systems including gas and diesel generators, automatic transfer switches, and UPS / flywheel systems preferred.

Preferred License : Yes If yes, what is the preferred licensure / certification? : Possession of ASSE 6040 licensure Preferred Computer Applications : Microsoft Outlook Preferred Other Computer Applications : Preferred Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : 1.

Knowledge of fire protection, barrier management, life safety, emergency power, fire pump, and medical gas systems preferred.

2. Knowledge of applicable NFPA codes including but not limited to 70, 72, 99, and 101 preferred.
