Job Summary :
Responsible for performing professional accounting and financial analysis requiring the application of general accounting principles
including analyzing and reconciling general ledger accounts / funds. Responsible for verifying and reconciling all College bank statements to general ledger for accuracy.
Perform complex record keeping and process fiscal transactions, journal entries for assigned funds and accounts, and preparation of data and reconciliations for annual financial audit.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Associates Degree in Accounting and 3 years experience;
- Or a combination of experience and education sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. Such as those listed above.
Licensing Requirements :
Hiring Range : $38,070 - $47,588

- Operates a computer to gather / enter data, do research, and generate reports
- Communicates via phone, email, or in person
- Verifies and reconciles college bank statements to the general ledger.
- Reconciles college balance sheet accounts.
- Knowledge of GASB and GAAP
Job Specific Task List :
25% - 1. Reconcile college wide bank accounts to the general ledger for all cash, check and electronic deposits and resolve all differences including preparation of inter-bank transfers and journal entries.
Using online banking platform to research and resolve bank account issues and discrepancies with the College's contracted financial institution.
Contact financial institution where required. - (Essential)
25% - 2. Review, analyze, and track all student refunds, accounts payable, and payroll cash transactions. Transmit files for College wide bank accounts including direct deposit files, student refund files, positive pay files, payroll deduction files and all electronic files as required by Banking institution and College partners.
Interface the payroll data into the general ledger and verify accuracy. Research and correct errors on interface. - (Essential)
5% - 3. Review stale dated checks and contact payees to determine if reissues are required. On a quarterly basis, prepare the list of all unclaimed checks (property).
As per Title IV regulations, work with financial aid to determine if student financial aid funds are to be return to the U.
S. Department of Education. Annually send due diligence letters as required by the Pennsylvania Department of Treasury and reissue checks as needed.
Annually submit unclaimed property to Pennsylvania Department of Treasury and all other states where payees reside. - (Essential)
2% - 4. Review, compile, and analyze auxiliary sales data to enter revenue, expense, tax, and adjustments into the general ledger.
Prepare the monthly sales tax reports and remittance requests based on reported sales. Prepare monthly journal entries for all bank and payroll transactions. - (Essential)
- 5% - 5. Monitor Finance email box. Review all journal entries for accuracy and enter in ERP system. Forward additional inquiries to appropriate staff members. - (Essential)

- 5% - 7. Assist in completing special projects, prepare audit reconciliations, monthly charge backs, and special financial analysis utilizing advanced excel skills. - (Essential)
