M1 is looking for an Applications Manager I : Performs management, planning and organization of projects within the Information Technology Support (ITS) department.
Provides work direction, develops system specifications, and gathers requirements for complex business solutions. Managesresearch, product selection, timelines, consultants and project costs for COTS software implementation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* Provides team leadership and coordination of projects, tasks and company initiatives.
- Provides customer relationship management, definition of needs and coordination of customer needs with team projectplan.
- Develops detailed system design specifications to serve as a guide for system / program development.* Ensures accurate and timely resource allocation and project staffing.
- Provides mentorship and training to less-experienced Application Managers in order to improve productivity.* Provides project documentation and status to ITS supervision.
- Prepares and submits project plans, outsourcing requirements, establishing policies and management controls to stay withinthe planned budget and timelines.
- Work and communicate with internal and external clients and customers to meet their needs in a polite, courteous, andcooperative manner.
Plays an active part in problem resolution and is committed to quality service.* Manages detailed evaluations of similar products, procurement, budgeting, consultant services, training, and projecttimelines in relationship to COTS implementations.
- Excellent technical and general communications skills, both oral and written including specific skills such as presentationsskills, leading / participating in project teams, and the ability to communicate complex subjects.
- Performs other duties as assigned.* Will not divulge materials or pertinent information relating to individual employees, sensitive Company data, and securityprocedures.
- Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease cycle time and streamline work processes, and workscooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
- Develop, formulate and improve methods, processes, and / or procedures to increase efficiency and quality.* Use approved methods / procedures in the performance of assigned job.
Correct / report all observed unsafepractices / conditions.
Additional Requirements : QUALIFICATION STANDARDS Knowledge : Frequent use and general knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and standards.
Has a general application ofconcepts and principles. Problem Solving : Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.
Refers to policies andpractices for guidance. Discretion : Works under general supervision. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy.
Impact : Contributes to the completion of organizational projects and goals. Errors in judgment or failure to achieve resultswould normally require a moderate expenditure of resources to rectify.
Liaison : Frequent internal company and external contacts. Represents organization on specific projects. Typical Experience & Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, business, or related discipline.
Relevant priorexperience can be substituted in lieu of education at the discretion of the CIO. Application development or Project managementcertifications or training is preferred.
One to three years of relevant experience required focused in Project Management. Previous experience with computer hardware, software and programming.
Must have experience with applications development,support and / or COTS implementations. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS This classification activity is usually accomplished in an office environment and as such requires a minimum of physical movementsand postures associated with these activities.
Typical physical demands or activities include standing, bending, stooping, pushing,kneeling, reaching and walking. May be required to lift objects whose weight normally will not exceed 25 pounds.
Special visionabilities required to perform this job are close vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust andfocus.
