Human Resources Business Partner

The Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for the successful management and performance of their direct report team, as assigned.

In addition, this role may be a member of the local field-based leadership team and expected to play an active role in discussions of any nature in helping drive the human capital strategy for Suntex Marinas.

This person will partner with management and staff to facilitate success and communicate various Human Resources policies, programs, practices, procedures, laws, and government regulations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Manage, lead, and reinforce assigned Human Resource initiatives such as Recognition, Onboarding / Orientation, training initiatives, etc.

through a partnership with the Marina Operations team.

  • Partner with the assigned Senior Vice Presidents, Regional Managers and General Managers to assess, anticipate and address all Human Resource needs.
  • Have regular communication with Marina Level General Managers to provide consult and assist with issues as they arise
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other members of the Human Resources Department to develop services, policies, programs, and solutions
  • Mediate and resolve Employee relations issues, conduct thorough and objective investigations, when necessary
  • Work with the General Managers to find ways to build morale, improve workplace relationships and boost productivity and retention
  • Knowledge or Federal, State and Local leaves to partner with the Benefits Team and assist in Leave Management
  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal, state and local requirements pertinent to the day-to-day management of Employees
  • Accountable for human resources reporting
  • Other duties as assigned by management

OPERATING RESPONSIBILITIES :

Must have the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and complete them in a timely manner. General organizational skills and attention to detail.

Must work well in a fast-paced atmosphere and communicate effectively with operations team. Effectively work within a team environment, but also independently with little or no supervision.

Being proactively self-aware of the daily business activities. Effectively adapt to our ever-changing environment. Presenting a positive attitude to both customers, peers, and management.

Work performed and composed of a variety of different tasks, calling for use of judgment, and compliance with policies and procedures.

Must be both a team player and self-starter. Requires excellent interpersonal skills and computer literacy.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Required
  • 3+ years of broad based and progressing HR Management experience, California Experience required
  • Previous experience as an HR Manager, Preferred
  • PHR or SPHR, preferred
  • Business partner with developed business acumen, strategic mindset with an ability to formulate creative solutions
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Detail oriented with excellent time management and follow up skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and high level of computer proficiency

WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

  • Must be able to independently lift, carry, push, and pull up to thirty (30) pounds
  • Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently, and squeezing & overhead reaching occasionally
  • Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis
  • Must be able to operate general computer equipment including laptop, keyboard, and mouse with ease
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time at a desk setting
  • Must be able to use eyes for the purpose of viewing computer monitors and analyze data for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to efficiently use ears for the purpose of listening to and analyzing data audibly in order to effectively communicate with various parties
  • Must be able to walk outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, heat)
  • Must be able to climb stairs, both indoors and outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, heat)
