Position Overview
As a District Survey Manager, you will play an integral role in establishing and maintaining methods for a safe, accurate and efficient Survey Department.
You will have responsibilities over contractual requirements, design model review and field survey operations, and should plan to spend around 30% of your time in the field observing and instructing the survey operations across our portfolio of projects within the Bridge & Marine District.

Kiewit Bridge & Marine's district office is based in Vancouver, WA, with a regional office in Federal Way, WA.

Responsibilities
- Understand Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) requirements for each project, which specific surveys are required for the design, as-built, monumentation and layout.
- Ensure the accuracy of files prior to being used for survey field calculations. Coordinate with the designer the file types required for survey operations.
- Establish regular meetings with the designer to review and plan for design survey requests and design model file progression.
- Manage staffing of the survey department along with personnel and equipment schedules.
- Establish a project survey plan and outline specific field and office procedures.
- Work with your project team to understand project objectives, allocated budgets, goals, schedules, and timeframes.
- Oversee the operation with periodic reviews of record keeping, field procedures and survey audits to ensure that all work is performed in an efficient and professional manner.
- Maintain the official set of plans for the survey department. Manage information flow from field to office and prepare clear, concise, and accurate field notes, records, and calculations.
- Provide weekly staff training sessions to ensure a competent and qualified staff.
Qualifications
- Ability to travel and relocate needed
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred
- 10+ years’ experience in Construction Survey, Dimensional Control, Industrial Measurement, or a related field is required
- Must be able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry to perform calculations (area, volume, circumference, proportion, percentage)
- Dynamic thinker with the desire to lead, motivate and mentor teams
- Self-starter with the ability to set standards of excellence in leadership, safety, quality and productivity
- Proficient computer knowledge including Microsoft Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work individually and as a team

Base Compensation : $135,000 - $170,000
- Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and / or location
