The Senior Process Engineer is anenterprising individual with a broad range of skills who ispersonally and professionally motivated to drive continuouseconomic mechanical and process improvements.
This person primarilyassists the Engineering Department while also supporting andresponding to requests from the Operations Quality and SalesDivisions.
Projects can range from pilot scale testing to new plantdesign and construction. Safety product quality and continuousimprovement of processes are paramount objectives.
ROLES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains and optimizes overall process capability& capacity.
- Ability to create mass andthermal balances quickly and thoroughly for existing and newchemical processes.
- Preparing scopes andbudgets for projects and ensuring their completion within costconstraints appropriate timelines and safetyrequirements.
- Develop and supportrelationships with contractors vendors local and state regulatoryagencies building permit agencies or others to implement projectseffectively and efficiently.
- New systemP&ID designs updating existing P&IDs and sizing anyequipment (valves pumps etc.) as well as GAs (generalarrangements).
- Develops calculationsprocedures reports and equipment designs for projects.
- Pilot design build and manage / oversee newprojects.
- Identify develop implement andprovide technical resources and guidance to assure completion ofapproved cost reduction and quality improvementprojects.
- Supports troubleshooting long termprocess / production issues.
- Ensures usage ofprocess related best practices & standards using RCA MOCand Hazzard Analysis Review standards.
- Participates in safety programs andinitiatives.
- Ensure that the manufacturingprocesses implemented meet safety standards and requirements.
- Lead process control variation reduction andwaste reduction projects.
- Lead new productintroduction scaleup.
- Lead new process startupand commissioning.
- Conducts commissioning andstartup activities.
- Participates in plantinspections and walkthroughs.
- Assist engineerswith project support and staff augmentation.
- Assist with FEL (front end loading) for futureprojects.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelors degree in chemicalengineering.
- 10 years relevant experience inprocess design engineering field.
- Demonstratedability to work independently on multilevel projects.
- Ability to work across multidisciplinary team toaccomplish complex and dynamic goals.
- Abilityto effectively navigate CAD excel and other software applicationsas required.
- Ability to travel to supportprojects and plant operations.
- Ability to workwith and use chemical process equipment including instruments pumpsmixers control systems and other components involved in industrialprocesses.
- Hands on work ethic.
