Job Summary : We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Master Electrician to oversee and maintain the electrical systems on our college campus in Prairie View, TX.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with electrical systems up to 277V, with knowledge of 480V being a significant plus.

As a leader, you will supervise a team of technicians, setting a high standard for both technical expertise and safety practices.

Key Responsibilities :

• Manage and perform advanced electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs on campus facilities, ensuring all work meets or exceeds industry standards.
• Supervise and mentor a team of technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality workmanship and professional development.
• Lead by example in upholding and promoting strict safety protocols, conducting regular safety audits, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and codes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues efficiently, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Collaborate with campus facilities management to plan and execute electrical projects, including upgrades, installations, and emergency repairs.
• Maintain detailed records of work performed, including service reports, safety inspections, and inventory of electrical supplies.

Qualifications :

• Valid Master Electrician License (Certified Master Electrician).
• Extensive experience working with electrical systems up to 277V; experience with 480V systems is a plus.
• Proven track record of leadership and ability to effectively manage and mentor a team.
• Strong commitment to safety and knowledge of current safety standards and regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and ability to interact professionally with campus staff and administration.

Equipment, Machine, or Manual Skills Required :

Valid driver's license, Good physical condition and a general understanding of electro-mechanical equipment. A demonstrated skill in one trade and basic understanding of other trades acquired through similar on-the-job training.

Ability to operate motorized tools and hand tools in a variety of trades.

Physical Demands : Sits, stands, bends, kneels, climbs stairs, ladders, and equipment, has good sense of balance to work on heights.

Some lifting of medium and / or heavy equipment and tools.

Working Conditions : Some exposure to elevated degrees of high heat, noise, dust, dirt and / or areas requiring infection control.

Requires meeting deadlines for completion of work on a daily basis. Work whatever hour's necessary to maintain facility in safe manner including weekends and nights.

Requires the ability to drive a company vehicle on a daily basis.
