The Second Shift Supervisor must be a highly motivated individual possessing excellent communication skills. Primary duties include facilitating proper movement of furniture, pulling trips, staging trips, and supervising employees.
A working knowledge of lift trucks and batteries is essential.

Essential Functions and responsibilities

- Maintain a working expertise in overall distribution procedures.
- Provide supervision of the shift; maximize employee performance and productivity.
- Enforce adherence to company uniform, safety & attendance policies and guidelines.
- Ensure procedures are followed that provide for a safe and productive work environment.
- Facilitate training to include scanning procedures, product respect, and material handling.
- Assist in associate counseling and performance evaluations.
- Provide leadership to associates; facilitate team building, increase associate morale, and reduce turnover.
- Maintain a neat, orderly and secure work environment. Conduct random checks of all doors, break areas, and vacant areas of the distribution floor.
- Operate baler, compactor, vacuum, and floor scrubber.
Required Education and Experience
A high school diploma or equivalent with at least two years of experience operating in a high volume distribution center.

- Must be highly motivated and dependable.
- Capable of working in a fast paced environment, mindful of safety at all times.
- Detail oriented with an aptitude for multi-tasking.
- Possess organizational skills necessary for allocating team work assignments.
- Ability to communicate concerns and share ideas with management.
- Possess excellent customer service skills.
Working Conditions
This job operates in a professional environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computer keyboards and terminals, word processing, use of desk phones, smart phones, iPads, tablets, desk top, lap top computers, calculators, adding machines.
Dexterity and agility in handling and operating, fax machines, copiers, scan guns, wheeled carts, dollies, utility knives, hand trucks, lift trucks, forklifts and ever-evolving iterations of business technology.
Ability to exert force, push, pull, or otherwise move objects of at least 75 lbs.
