Lead Mitigation Technician / Supervisor
Position Overview
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Lead Mitigation Technician / Supervisor supports emergency response and restoration projects to ensure the goals and needs of the insurance companies and our customers are being met.
The Mitigation Technician Lead is responsible for providing technical direction for jobs and projects involving fire, smoke, water, mold and bio-hazard restoration.
Assist in overseeing and the coordination of all facets of restoration.
Job Duties
Work on job sites providing the following services
o Water pumping and extraction
o Mold remediation
o Moving & re-setting contents
o Selective demolition as required to accommodate the drying process
o debris disposal
o Setting drying equipment
o Capable of moisture mapping the affected area, inclusive of temperature, relative humidity and MC moisture content readings
Participate as directed in the following activities :
o Vehicle safety and maintenance inspections
o Ensure vehicle is cleaned and restocked at end of shift
o Constructing polyethylene enclosures
o Maintaining equipment
Will practice good housekeeping at all times to ensure a safe and non-cluttered worksite
Provide excellent customer service
Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines
Ensure attention to detail and keen sense of safeguarding other peoples property and information
Participates in and demonstrates an understanding of safety principles and practices; follows all safety policies and procedures to support a safe working environment, including safe operation of machines and equipment
Comply with all company policies and procedures, as well as follow safety handbook policies
Proactively communicate job site conditions and concerns that may or are affecting completion of the job to the appropriate person
This role could be required to act as a lead periodically as designated by their manager
Attend all / complete all company training courses
JOB Requirements :
- Participate in 24-hour emergency on call rotation (nights, weekends, holidays)
- Be able to work more than 7 consecutive days when required due to work load on a large loss
IICRC certification for Water Restoration Technician (WRT) required
IICRC certification for Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (AMRT) an asset but not required
2+ years industry related experience, Construction / Restoration / Insurance preferred
Familiarity with chemical products including use, disposal, and Safety Data Sheets
Comprehensive understanding of customer service, principles and practices
Eligible to operate a motor vehicle
Ability to work within a team or independently as needed
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
Basic computer and / or Tablet / iPad experience
Willing to work evenings, on call and weekends when requested
Criminal Record Check Physical Demands
Frequent lifting from 5-40 lbs, unassisted (from 35-65% of the time)
Occasional lifting from 41 lbs +, assisted (up to 50% of the time)
Access and mobility in tight spaces
Fit Testing half and full face mask as needed, annual certification required
Working at Heights - over 5 feet, periodically
Sustained periods of standing, sitting, walking, bending, and kneeling
