We are currently partnered up with a Plastics Manufacturing company in their search to backfill their Quality Control Manager position.

Job Description

The Quality Control Manager - Plastics Manufacturing will be responsible for the following :

  • Establish quality standards and procedures to ensure consistent product and service quality.
  • Review and approve quality control plans, product specifications, and testing protocols.
  • Conduct regular audits of the production process, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and optimize production processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify root causes of quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations related to product quality and safety.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and standards.
  • Evaluate and monitor the quality performance of suppliers and vendors.
  • Develop and implement supplier quality agreements and conduct supplier audits.
  • Work closely with the customer service and sales teams to address customer complaints and concerns related to product quality.
  • Implement corrective actions to improve customer satisfaction and reduce return rates.
  • Train and mentor quality control staff on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Promote a culture of quality awareness throughout the organization.
  • Prepare and present quality reports to senior management, highlighting key metrics, trends, and areas of concern.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality control.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal Quality Control Manager - Plastics Manufacturing will have the following qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in quality control, quality assurance, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Experience in Plastics Manufacturing or a related industry is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in quality management software and tools.
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Manager (CQM), or other relevant certifications are a plus.
