Summary of Job Duties :

The Project / Program Specialist / Job Developer works under the immediate supervision of the Director. This position is funded in part by a grant from Title III.

  • Establishes and maintains partnerships with Fortune 500 and other companies to increase the number of summer internships and Cooperative Education opportunities for students annually;
  • researches and collects data related to job opportunities including job requirements and skills; coordinates with career coaches to evaluate background, skills and interest to match students with potential job openings based on employer qualifications;
  • makes cold calls and schedules appointments with potential and existing employers to establish and maintain partnerships;
  • keeps abreast of industry trends; identifies ways to recognize preferred employers; communicates with employers and students two weeks after employment to discuss transition into the workforce;
  • utilize Handshake to search employment opportunities; handles on campus recruitment; establishes an Employer Advisor Board, schedules meetings and luncheons;

achieves quarterly and annual placement goals; completes quarterly and annually Title III reports; works collaboratively with director, staff and events coordinators to facilitate on-campus recruitment, employer visits, career fairs and other events.

Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree and two to five years of professional work experience that includes previous experience in higher education, human resources, job placement or recruiting;

Master's degree and previous experience with Career Services or Cooperative Education preferred.
