Hybrid out of East Hanover, NJ
The Senior Analyst, Accounting and External Reporting, Leasing will support the North America Region with interpreting and applying the accounting standard requirements related to leasing, as well as supporting associated controls and processes.
Strong accounting / finance knowledge and analytical skills as well as good communication skills and confidence are key to be successful in this role.
This position provides the candidate with opportunities to lead and execute assigned project tasks, while working in a team environment and interacting with multiple functions across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Liaison and provide support to related Integrated Supply Chain (ISC , Customer Service & Logistics, Plants, External Manufacturing) and other functions to complete lease-related requests / requirements
Help disseminate lease updates and provide training on lease policy to stakeholders in the region
Assist with reconciliation of vendor and internal leased assets records.
Coordinate and assist with embedded lease contract reviews
Help ensure the overall completeness and accuracy of the lease population in North America
Execute monthly and quarterly close responsibilities.
Establish cross-functional relationships and act as a trusted business partner
Apply ASC842 and Mondelez lease accounting policies

How you will contribute
Support accounting and external reporting activities including accurate and timely GAAP reporting and timeliness and integrity of statutory financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations.
As required, you will support activities performed by Mondelēz International Business Services / third-party service providers during month / quarter / year-end close, statistical reporting and statutory audit
Contribute to strong controls and compliance environment and comply with Mondelēz International’s AER policies. Support audit activities and provide information on auditors' request.

What you will bring
A desire to drive your future and accelerate your career. You will bring experience and knowledge in :
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE in accounting and external reporting including understanding GAAP close processes and financial reporting systems (SAP experience preferred).
Knowledge in policy, controls and compliance design including SOX reporting
BUSINESS ACUMEN and experience working in CPG Industry or Big Four accounting preferred
LEADERSHIP SKILLS including proven business partnering and communication skills. Comfortable with working as a finance leader managing cross-functional and business partner teams to drive timely and accurate results
GROWTH / DIGITAL MINDSET and the ability to leverage technology to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and financial system knowledge
INTEGRITY and sound judgement in all decisions and interactions aligned with our values, policies and external regulations
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required, CPA preferred
3+ years of experience in Accounting
Strong experience in balance sheet account analysis and reconciliation
Experience with financial systems (SAP preferred)
Strong Excel skills
Experience with General Ledger and close processes
Ability to build cross-functional relationships and communicate effectively
Possess critical thinking skills, quantitative and analytical problem-solving skills with ability to interpret data with the ability to handle and analyze large amounts of data
Ability to work with details and understand business implications
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task managing multiple projects
Ability to show initiative, work autonomously at times
