Boiler Controls Technician
Ergon's Corporate Maintenance department has an opening for a Boiler Controls Technician in central Texas.
Ergon Corporate Maintenance is an internal service group to Ergon. The role provides support to the repair and service of hot oil heaters and steam boilers as well as technical expertise on the management of facility wide thermal systems.
This is a critical position that provides nationwide support of Ergon's fired equipment. Our internal service group prides itself on a positive work environment where respectful relationships are formed through dedication to our service.

Due to the nationwide spread of Ergon's facilities, this position requires up to 75% travel.
Boiler Controls Technician pay ranges from $29 / hr to $44 / hr based on level of expertise.
Boiler Controls Technician Responsibilities :
- Service, repair, troubleshoot, and perform preventive maintenance on all types of boilers, heaters, fired equipment, etc.
- Maintain records of all service and repairs and have a safe and clean working environment by complying with all procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Work with customers, co-workers, and associates to develop and maintain strong working relationships in a cooperative work environment.
- Recognize tasks outside of normal job duties and assist others when applicable.
- Maintain Safe work practices and good hazard recognition in all aspects of the job.
Boiler Controls Technician Qualifications / Requirements :
- A high school diploma or GED and a valid Driver's license.
- Requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in servicing boilers and fired equipment.
- Proficient with electrical multi-meter and 120vac and low voltage control circuitry.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, Experience with VFDs, PLCs, single loop controllers and other electronic controls desired.
- Demonstrate good communication and organizational skills.
- The person chosen must be capable of lifting or moving objects that weigh 50 pounds or more and perform tasks that involve bending, lifting, and climbing tanks or other structures.
- Capable of working extensive overtime, up to 80 hours, and weekends when needed.
- Willing to routinely travel to facilities (typically up to a week) as needed to perform job function.
The person selected must have a valid driver's license, be able to work in confined spaces, and be able to work in any environment (heat, cold, rain, etc.
The person selected must reside in central Texas.
