Moving past best to become what's next.Responsibilities*Manage the Request for Quotations / Proposal / Information (RFQ / P / I) process, guiding clients in developing bid specifications.
Assist in the evaluation of supplier quotations / proposals and facilitate supplier selection.Negotiate contracts for goods and services, leading complex initiatives related to procurement.
Promote strategic activities within the technology commodity space; focusing on supplier management.Evaluate and process contract requests, examining the request for clarity, appropriateness of purchase, bid specifications, and compliance with university policies and procedures.
Communicate contractual requirements and procurement policies to university faculty, staff, and external suppliers.Advise and direct clients as appropriate to the use of University Wide supplier contracts.
Collaborate with procurement leadership to develop and implement initiatives that enhance procurement processes, improve contract compliance, and streamline purchase and invoice transactions.
Analyze commodity spend to identify industry trends and procurement opportunities.Promote and participate in diversity supplier development initiatives related to the technology commodity and socially responsible purchasing initiatives.
Mentor junior procurement staff and assist higher-level purchasing staff with projects.Required Qualifications*Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
5-7 years of progressive procurement experience, with a focus on developing RFP / RFQ / RFI specifications, leading sourcing projects, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
Strong contracting and negotiation skills, complemented by analytical and organizational abilities.Effective verbal and written communicator with the ability to engage diplomatically with all levels of staff and stakeholders.
Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks across departments under changing deadlines.Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team environmentCollaborative team player with a commitment to excellent customer service.
Desired Qualifications*Experience in procurement of hardware and software, SaaS, or related technologyExperience in public procurementExperience in drafting, negotiation, and management of contract scope and service level agreementsUnderstanding and experience in negotiating legal terms of a broad range of standard commercial contractsModes of WorkPositions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile / remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department.
