We are actively looking for an Entry Level Bridge Engineer to join our Orlando office.

Duties and responsibilities :

• Utilize structural analysis software for design, such as : Leap Bridge Concrete, Leap Bridge Steel, Open Bridge Modeler, FDOT programs, STAAD, SAP2000, etc.
• Complete design tasks with supervision and learn to work independently.
• Coordinate the structural design with other disciplines and construction teams.
• Become familiar with various structural standards and building codes such as : AASHTO, AREMA, and UPRR / BNSF guidelines.
• Compile data and perform calculations required for the preparation of drawings and design studies.
• Prepare cost estimates.
• Prepare construction documents.
• Collaborate with Bridge and Rail Team and all company disciplines.
• Conduct inspections and assist in supervision of site investigations as needed.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering preferred.
• EIT certification preferred.
• Entry to 2+ years of experience
• Intern experience preferred.
• Experience with FDOT projects desirable.
• Experience with MicroStation and / or Open Bridge Modeler desirable.
• Experience with STAAD, SAP2000, or similar a plus.
• All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171.

Physical requirements :

The majority of work is office-based and will require using standard office equipment. Some site visits may be required which may necessitate climbing, navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.

Some travel may be required to project sites in different locations other than the candidate's assigned office.
