Overview

Responsible for managing all projects that are involved with IT resources with a major focus of using a centralized project management tool.

This position is the liaison between Information Systems and other departments to coordinate projects with associated attributes such as : Milestones, identification of all tasks, due dates, resources required, hard and soft deadlines, assigned resources, depend predecessors and other tools to facilitate the open communication and reporting requirements of project progress.

It is important that this position interacts with customers in a professional manner, contributes to improving Organizational performance activities;

maintains patient rights and responsibilities, promotes privacy and confidentiality, demonstrates a commitment to professional accountability and growth to maintain and expand knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities

A. Healthcare Systems

1. Maintains current information systems related to the management of projects ensuring ease of use, accuracy, and efficiency.

2. Ensures project systems meet functional, regulatory, and compliance requirements.

3. Collaborates with other project leaders and stakeholders to ensure usability and functionality are met.

4. Develop / Strengthen Information Systems team members to actively participate in building project plans that meet the organizations project goals.

5. Provide structure to streamline support, maintenance, and improvement of projects.

B. Project Management

1. Develops and manages the project delivery process that allows the team to ensure successful delivery of all projects in a timely fashion and in accordance with Organizational objectives and priorities.

2. Researches options and makes recommendations to incorporate into the development of the Department's strategic plan.

3. Coordinates Project Resource Allocation with Information Systems & other departments' project stakeholders.

4. Participates in third-party technology relationships utilized as resources to the Information Systems projects.

5. Maintains focus on priority of projects as established by the Information Systems Steering Committee.

C. Leadership

1. Develops and maintains a strong team environment between the Information Systems group, and other departments.

2. Plan, implement and align all projects with the Organization's strategic plan and initiatives.

3. Actively assists Information Systems Associates with daily workflow to optimize project management efficiency & workflows.

4. Provide timely communication to Information Services leadership team.

5. Provides leadership skills to develop Associates into strong supporters of an organized project management program.

6. Participates in hospital-wide committee / meetings as assigned.

D. Education and Development

1. Plans and participates in training programs particular to information needs.

2. Identifies opportunities to improve Associate technology skills related to the success of projects.

3. Demonstrates a commitment to professional accountability and growth to expand knowledge and skills.

E. Additional Essential Job Duties

1. Contributes to the achievement of the mission, vision, and values of the Organization.

2. Contributes to the effective operations of the Organization by demonstrating dependability in job performance.

3. Demonstrates a commitment to the development and implementation of shared governance across the Organization.

4. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Works in information services and clinical environments. Must be able to work with interruptions. The task of this job does not involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues.

Contact with all Associates throughout the Organization, computer and software vendors.

Qualifications

Education : Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field or equivalent experience required.

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science preferred.

PMP Certificate : Preferred but will accept appropriate experience related to job description expectations.

Experience : Five (5) years hospital or healthcare experience, computer experience and leadership experience.

EQUIPMENT USED / SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED : Thorough knowledge of Organizational departments operating policies and procedures and how their activities interrelate with other departments in the hospital.

Good verbal communication skills, analytical skills, required. Works well in stressful environment.

ITIL certification preferred.

Lean, Six Sigma or Process Improvement experience preferred.
