Unity Developer

Sigma Defense is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the team as a Unity Developer.

As a Unity Developer, you will take a role in developing complex game logic for AR / VR and mixed reality systems that will aid Navy sailors in improving their situational readiness through high fidelity training scenarios.

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining engaging simulations in a collaborative team environment. Additionally, you will play a key role in creating interactive training tools that will enhance the overall preparedness and effectiveness of our military members.

Requirements

2-3 years of relevant work experience with Unity, 3D, and C#.

Experience designing and implementing Virtual and / or Augmented Reality applications in Unity for Meta Quest, HoloLens or equivalent headsets.

Ability to write clean, scalable, and maintainable code using C# within the Unity framework.

Good troubleshooting skills with knowledge of identifying bottlenecks.

Strong knowledge of object-oriented design principles.

Candidate Differentiators :

Prior experience with DoD projects specifically VR simulation training for the Navy, best if they live in or near San Diego, willing to conduct on-site visits with customer when needed but this is mostly a remote position.

Personnel Clearance Level :

Candidate must possess an active, DoD-issued Secret security clearance.

A clearance will be sponsored for the right candidate.

Education Requirement :

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, game development, or similar field of study.

Essential Job Duties (not all-inclusive) :

Collaborate with subject matter experts to support high-fidelity, team-based Naval training simulations.

Exceute best practices for Unity game development and stay up-to-date on relevant industry trends.

Execute best practices for AR / VR SDKs like MRTK, OpenXR or equivalent.

Support new features with multiplayer networking using Photon Engine.

Implement gameplay functionality and mechanics including user interface, gameplay logic, and session management.

Integrate 3D assets and animations into Unity application.

Design and maintain optimal database schemas.

Write and verify Unity test cases using a CI / CD pipeline.

Containerize relevant web services to support use case including hosting and sending multimedia content and data analytics.

Participate in code reviews and collaborate with team members

Salary Range : $90,000 - $110,00 annually.
