As an Employee Benefits Account Manager, you must support and promote Coverra's core values of being a high performer, adaptable, committed, balanced, and entrepreneurial.

As an Employee Benefits Account Manager, your day-to-day focus will be assisting the Benefits Consultant / Producing Agent by strategizing value propositions, attending marketing meetings with vendors, conducting client meetings, preparing market proposals, and supporting the closure of a sale to meet established department sales goals.
You will further assist the Account Manager(s) with the client renewal efforts and with the coordination of services between the client and the insurance company.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Assist the Consultant / Producing Agent with executing client benefit strategy.
- Lead marketing efforts from beginning to end, including collecting necessary data / information, drafting proposal requests, and preparing summary exhibits for the Consultant / Producing Agent to present.
- Assist Consultant / Producing Agent in selecting potential placement markets.
- Partner with Consultant / Producing Agent to lead client meetings and presentations.
- Ability to perform independently an advanced level of benchmarking, renewal & marketing, as well as reporting & analytics.
- Participate in market meetings, seminars and training programs as needed
- Ability to interpret and articulate basic utilization and financial reporting, as provided by the Consultant / Producing Agent, to assist with client service questions.
- Collaborate with the Consultant / Producing Agent on client benefit plan, cost, and plan design and market alternatives.
- Organize, outline and prepare in collaboration with the Consultant / Producing Agent renewal and other benefits-related meeting presentations.
- Assist clients with annual / open enrollment planning; prepare materials, fulfill and distribute materials and present enrollment presentations to employee groups, as needed.
- Provide excellent Customer Service relating to the assigned books of business, including but not limited to responding to customer problems relating to questions on policies, coverages, and referrals to Client Advocates for assistance with employee claim-related concerns.
- Prepare marketing results proposals for renewal and new business, meeting deadlines relating to meetings and policy expirations.
- Demonstrate a commitment to career advancement by participating in continuing education programs, including maintaining a Wisconsin Life, Accident, and Health license.
Maintain advanced insurance knowledge and expertise.
- Manage Request for Proposal process with the assistance of the Employee Benefits Account Manager.
- Other Responsibilities and Authorities :
- Lead service on an assigned book(s) of business (or clients) by leveraging internal resources and delegating work utilizing appropriate resources.
- Organize and prioritize workflow of assigned book of business.
- Participate in meetings and assist in the development of new procedures to help streamline workflow and efficiency.
- Understand agency policy, procedures, and customer service standards and regularly follow these guidelines.
- Maintain efficient and positive relationships with Employee Benefits department personnel and other agency staff, clients, and carriers.
- Create specialized client deliverables such as stewardship reports, researching coverage options, or plan benchmarking.
- Promote the Coverra culture across all teams through demonstration of company service standards and core values
- Partner with the Consultant / Producing Agent and mentor the Employee Benefits service team members by articulating the client deliverables discussed throughout the sales and implementation process
- Mentor, coach, and provide technical training to Employee Benefits team members
- Assist in resolving complex or escalated issues regarding account handling and client interactions.
- Oversee account support deliverables, including providing / obtaining reports & plan metrics, project management, coordinating SPDs, and other benefit compliance requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Skill Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 5-10 years of working experience in an insurance agency is required. Thorough knowledge of Employee Benefits is required.
- Use of Epic management system preferred
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience will be considered.
- Life, Health & Accident Insurance License required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently.
- Detail-oriented mindset with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving are essential personal skills for optimal effectiveness in executing these daily job functions.
- Candidate should have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Proficient internet navigation is also required;
prior use of intranet or employee portal navigation is a plus.
- Local travel for client enrollment meetings is required.
