FirstFour Staffing has partnered with a reputable organization that is seeking to add a Dispatch Supervisor to their team in Mobile.
RESPONSBILITIES
- Responsible for managing, scheduling, dispatching, providing administrative support, coordinating and communicating transport routes, overseeing office activities, training, cost management, and other related services for the division.
- Responsible for promptly answering calls from internal and external customers regarding transportation needs and ensuring that the calls are delivered to drivers across multiple states.
- Oversees and manages dispatch / transport scheduling assignments for multiple locations.
- Coordinates and organizes daily dispatch activities, including assigning tasks to team members and ensuring work is completed on time and efficiently.
- Dispatches calls to drivers as they are received, using information on and daily factors such as arrivals, departures, locations, and customer needs to balance cost and speed of response.
- Identifies areas for process improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and effectiveness in dispatch operations.
- Maintains accurate records and documentation of dispatch activities, including scheduling and tracking of all service orders.
- Assists in selecting, training, scheduling, coaching, counseling, approving time sheets and disciplining employees.
- Assists in developing Dispatch workforce planning.
- Develops and maintains a strong working knowledge of accounting procedures.
- Maintains open communication with inside or outside vendors handling service orders.
- Courteously interact with internal and external customers.
- Resolves escalated customer and employee calls and issues in a timely manner.
- Prepares reports for management as needed.
- Provides on-call dispatching services.
- Abides by all federal, state, and local laws, including all transportation rules, guidelines, and safety regulations.
- Travel to multiple office locations as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of two to four (2-4) years as a dispatcher required.
- A minimum of three to five (3-5) years of management experience required.
- Previous verifiable experience handling duties in the passenger transport business.
- Previous experience in the marine agency field helpful but not required.
- Possess good organization skills and ability to multi-task procedural and project management tasks within short time constraint situations.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Type and talk simultaneously, having excellent phone and email communication skills.
- Must be able to work daily on-call as needed, including some weekends and holidays.
- Available after hours, on-call basis as scheduled.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
