Prep Cook
Mancan is working with a restaurant in Walnut Creek seeking a night shift prep cook. Shift time is 1 : 30 pm - 9 pm. Days will vary based on the needs of the restaurant.
Pay is $13 per hour. This is a temp to hire position for the right candidate based upon attitude, attendance, and performance.
The Prep Cook is responsible for assisting in the preparation of meals by chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, and ensuring all ingredients are ready for cooking.
This role involves maintaining a clean and organized work environment, following food safety guidelines, and supporting the kitchen team to ensure efficient and timely service.
Key Responsibilities :
- Food Preparation : Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, chopping, and slicing vegetables and fruits, as well as measuring and mixing ingredients.
- Recipe Preparation : Follow recipes and directions provided by chefs to prepare sauces, dressings, and other basic food items.
- Kitchen Support : Assist other kitchen staff with various tasks as needed, including plating and garnishing dishes.
- Sanitation and Safety : Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
Qualifications :
- Previous restaurant experience preferred but not required.
- Basic understanding of kitchen operations, food safety, and sanitation practices.
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy items, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Good verbal communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
