Working / Functional TitleGLBRC DevOps EngineerPosition SummaryThe Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center (GLBRC) is seeking a DevOps engineer with a deep understanding of programming, web application technologies, and Linux system administration to support scientific analysis and research data management.
The GLBRC is a multi-institutional grant with diverse needs for custom software and processes to catalog, share, and analyze data.
The candidate will join the GLBRC Information Services team, working in a collaborative cross-institution environment, to produce, configure and support high caliber software and systems focused on research data management and data operations.
They will independently communicate with researchers, design solutions and bring new ideas to the team while staying current in the fields of software development and data management.
They will contribute to the design, configuration and maintenance of GLBRC systems infrastructure to support software development and scientific analysis needs.
They will assist with ongoing maintenance and support for existing systems, software, and data analysis tools including user training and documentation.
The candidate will assist with the installation, maintenance and support of video conferencing solutions in GLBRC conference rooms and provide IT support to GLBRC offices and labs.
- Unit Specific Education / Experience / SkillsKnowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related information technology field, with coursework in an information technology specialization related to the area of employment;
- one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in an information technology area related to the duties to be performed;
