Biologist Entry Level

Your Role :

The primary responsibilities for this position include supporting biological / natural resource surveys throughout the United States.

Additional responsibilities include :

• Conducting multiple types of biological / natural resource surveys throughout the United States as needed for project requirements
• Working on several projects at one time in different phases of the project life and prioritizing work across all projects as assigned to maintain the schedule and ensure data quality (i.

e., ensuring timely completion of data quality assurance / quality control and report writing around fieldwork assignments)

• Supporting writing and review of technical reports.
• Potentially completing work / surveys outside of biological sciences (Utility Surveys, Water sampling, etc.).

Qualifications :

A Bachelor’s degree in an environmental program such as Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or related curriculum along with 0-3 years’ environmental experience, including field work, is required.

This experience may include pertinent academic curricula. Master’s degree in a related field is a plus.

• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative work environment along with a willingness to learn and be adaptable.
• Ability to conduct field work safely in accordance with Tetra Tech’s health and safety policies and the project specific health and safety plan.
• Excellent organization and oral / written communications skills.
• Ability to take clear and accurate field notes by hand or on a tablet / smartphone.
• Ability to program data collection templates desirable.
• Ability to prioritize a variety of assignments in time-critical situations.
• Ability to analyze available data and draw valid, defensible conclusions.
• Schedule must have flexibility to travel (land and / or air), at times on short notice.
• The successful candidate must possess a valid driver’s license in good standing and successfully pass a motor vehicle background check in accordance with company policy.
