Position Responsibilities

This Operations Accountant position is a critical component of the back office operations of Golub Capital. This function ensures that the investment income due to the Firm is received and reconciled in a timely manner and that the investment activity is posted to the Firm’s General Ledger (GL) system accurately.

This person will reconcile accounts from multiple institutions, identify and escalate reconciling items and will act as a liaison between the Operations and Fund Accounting Departments of the Firm.

This position involves extensive coordination between Loan Closers, Portfolio Administrators and Fund Accountants.

Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

  • Reconcile daily bank cash activity
  • Prepare, reconcile and book GL entries
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Administrators to manage accounting system Wall Street Office (WSO) entries
  • Prepare management reports as requested
  • Provide operational support to Managers, Analysts and Fund Accountants as needed
  • Support ad-hoc and special client or business driven projects as directed by team leader and firm management

Candidate Requirements

Qualifications & Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree required (accounting or finance degree preferred)
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience in similar industry, ideally back office
  • High level of proficiency in Excel is a must
  • Proficiency in WSO (Wall Street Office), Workday or other similar applications is a strong plus
  • Strong account reconciliation skills and GL experience in banking or lending
  • At least 1 year of operations / accounting experience in a similar business area (private equity, leveraged finance, hedge fund or similar) is strongly preferred
