This Buyer role is pivotal in managing and coordinating all aspects of the supply chain to support operational and strategic goals.
The role involves planning and scheduling material procurement aligned with the forecast plan to ensure a continuous production schedule.
KEYS :
- Minimum 5 years purchasing experience, Med device preferred,
- Experience in a regulated Manufacturing Industry is a Must
- ERP / MRP planning required - plan & schedule material procurement to forecast.
- Should have an understanding of machining as well as an understanding of quality corrective actions and supplier management.
- The Buyer would need to have experience managing sole source / single source suppliers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Supplier Relations : Manage supplier selection and supply chain development, including pricing, forecasting, and procurement planning.
- Inventory and Quality Control : Address issues related to delivery shortages, pricing discrepancies, and inventory quality.
Act on material review board dispositions and engineering change orders.
- Communication and Coordination : Serve as the primary point of contact between internal stakeholders and suppliers, ensuring all parties are informed of order statuses, delivery dates, and planning needs.
- Inventory Management : Collaborate with management to maintain optimal inventory levels that support manufacturing demands and achieve targeted inventory turnover rates.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Education : BS / BA degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Experience : Minimum of 5 years in purchasing, preferably within a regulated industry such as medical devices.
- Certifications : APICS certification is advantageous.
