Network & Security Infrastructure Administrator - NAFTA
Stabilus is a global leader in the production of gas springs and dampers on five continents. Our products can be used in a wide variety of industries, such as the automotive and office chair manufacturing industries, furniture technology, solar industry, medical technology, and many other industrial applications.
This position will be located in our U.S. Headquarters in Gastonia, NC.
Job Summary :
The Network & Security Infrastructure Administrator is responsible for the design, support and management of the LAN / WAN infrastructure and security environment at Stabilus’ American centers of operation.
Essential Job Functions :
- Plan, build and run the Stabilus network and IT security environment at all NAFTA sites in US and Mexico together with an international team.
- Monitoring of system performance, continuous improvement, unusual activity, etc.
- Analyze and establish security requirements for our networks, based on our global policies and standards.
- Implement network security policies, application security, access control and corporate data safeguards.
- Conduct security audits and make policy recommendations.
- Develop and update business continuity and disaster recovery protocols.
- Provide technical security advice.
- Local user support as well as 2nd level support for local centers of operation and single point of contact for global WAN / LAN issues.
- Configuration of Cisco and Avaya routers, switches, firewalls for issue resolution
- Review monthly optimization reports and action relevant items for improvement
- Review monthly capacity reports to suggest network upgrades
- Work with external suppliers and internal international teams for delivery of changes
- Work with internal teams and external suppliers to keep an accurate inventory of circuits in the monitoring system.
- Ensure excellent documentation of supervised systems.
- Work closely with network experts and project teams during planning activities
- Support project teams during delivery of services
- Valuable contribution in developing an American hub (central site for hosting of most IT systems and applications as well as support and delivery for all NAFTA Stabilus centers of operation) for the Stabilus group.
- Able to travel internationally to facilitate project activities
Education, Training, Certifications :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science of equivalent experience.
- CCNA / CCNP certifications or equivalent experience is desirable
Experience :
- At least 5 years of experience in similar environments.
- Excellent overall knowledge of network and security environments such as LAN / WAN standards, optimization controller, WiFi equipment, Firewalls, Proxy, Cloud Services.
- Unified communication solutions (Lync / Skype for business)
Job Knowledge and Skills :
- Fluent speaking and writing English skills required.

Working Condition :
- Able to travel within the US and internationally to facilitate project activities (20%)
- Must be able to be on-call.
- Must be able to handle fast-paced working conditions.
- Ability to lift at least 40 lbs.
