Responsibilities
Role :
As a Fire Protection Engineering Technologist, you will work within our dedicated fire protection group to complete all design aspects for mechanical fire protection systems.
You will actively participate in the development and improvement of procedures and information management, ensuring our processes are efficient and up-to-date.
Additionally, you will interface with Project Managers and division representatives at various manufacturing sites to address and resolve any project-related issues.
Responsibilities :
- Work within the fire protection group to complete all design aspects for mechanical fire protection
- Support all design functions required to complete projects to construction
- Responsible for successful discipline project outcomes (cost, schedule and quality conformance)
- Provide deliverable quality checking and oversight
- Interface with construction forces to answer field installation questions
- Perform to defined project metrics
Qualifications
Requirements :
- 5+ years of experience in an engineering and / or engineering services organization required
- 5+ years design experience using CAD tools in Fire Protection, Mechanical, Piping or a closely related field required with exposure and some understanding of NFPA 13, International Building Code, International Fire Code, and Factory Mutual datasheets.
What will make you stand out :
- NICET Certification
- Associates Degree in Fire Protection, Mechanical or Piping related field
- Experience with CAD tools required (2D, 3D). Experience with Laser Scans, as well as platforms provided by Bentley, AVEVA, MicroStation and AutoCAD
- Experience with AutoSprink software
- Demonstrated the ability to lead design efforts on multiple assignments of varying complexity
