Licensed Professional Counselor (MCP)

Job Description

In an outpatient setting, provides behavioral health counseling services to patients with mild to moderate emotional and behavioral problems.

Conducts initial psychosocial evaluations to include diagnosing and treatment planning. Provides evidence-based counseling therapy services, monitors patient progress, and adjusts treatment plans as necessary.

Acts as a liaison between patient / family and service delivery personnel to ensure patients are being effectively treated.

Typically reports to the head of a unit / department.

Minimum Education and Experience :

Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or another related behavioral health field

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations :

Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), or Licensed Marriage Family Therapist : licensure by the applicable South Carolina Board required.
