Field Technician - Installation

Role

• Honest is looking for Field Technicians who are excited to expand our internet network!
• Technicians would be responsible for installing internet service for customers in residential apartment units in Philadelphia and Newark.

Our entire network of buildings are in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Jersey City, New Rochelle, Stamford, Newark and Philadelphia

• Technicians install, terminate, test and troubleshoot various cabling (copper and fiber)
• This is a fast-paced environment where you will be working solo, performing up to 5 residential installs per day.

Primary responsibilities

• Ability to interact with customers of all types
• Technical skills
• Ability to install, terminate, test and troubleshooting copper and fiber
• Run cable / ethernet throughout multi dwelling unit (MDU) apartments. Respond to and troubleshoot network issues
• Bonus : operate OTDR, Light Meter, VFL and other fiber equipment / tools
• Comfortable setting up and configuring routers and optimizing Wi-fi
• Comfortable using mass transit operate during the day

Requirements

• 1-3 years Fiber Optic or similar cabling experience preferred
• Read, understand and follow work orders / prints / scopes
• Flexible working schedule
• Familiarity working with hand and power tools
• Comfortable working in confined spaces (basements, electrical closets, shaftways, etc.)
• Capable of lifting up to 75 lbps
• Ability to train in New York metropolitan area (e.g. NYC) and capable of using transit to perform jobs consistently in Philadelphia and Newark after training
