The ideal candidate for this position will have extensive experience overseeing the progress of steel Structures projects in a timely and cost-effective manner.

As the Structural Steel Project Manager, you will ensure that each project phase is completed within the scheduled timeline and that the project scope fits the budget.

Critical Duties :

Lead and evaluate projects and staff, including development and control of project deadlines, budgets, and activities.

Formulate, organize and monitor inter-connected projects.

Collaborate with other stakeholders to ensure coordinated deliverables.

Manage dependencies, identify and mitigate risk, and with competing project initiatives.

Essential Duties (other duties may be assigned) :

Review and assess vendor proposals.

Manage multiple parallel projects using formal project planning techniques.

Set up projects in the PE system.

Establish PE fabrication schedules and objectives.

Coordinate subcontractors.

Communicate progress towards production, financial, quality, and safety goals to internal and external stakeholders.

Negotiate change orders.

Establish and maintain customer relationships.

Oversee process improvements in projects that are likely to have few precedents and may have an enterprise-wide impact.

Monitor / manage vendors and vendor relationships.

May prepare, present, and distribute project and program information to various internal and external groups to the organization.

Identify resource and equipment requirements, efficient capacity planning, and management software and hardware availability.

Attention to Detail

• Education / Experience :
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• 10 years of general and 5 years of project management experience in the structural steel industry commercial fabrication experience is a plus.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with FabSuite and Tekla preferred.
• MS Office.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
