Responsibilities
Direct the development and implementation of policies, procedures and strategies for a laboratory.
- Direct and establish policies, procedures and protocols.
- Manag financial operations of the lab including expense and revenue analysis, evaluation of lab
services and development activities.
Plan, organize and direct all activities related to staffing which may include hiring, orienting,
evaluating, disciplinary actions and continuing education initiatives.
Determine and justify needs for equipment purchases, adhere to policies regarding equipment
purchases, monitor equipment installations and oversee proper working order of equipment.
Responsible for monitoring quality of lab, including test performance, turn around time, and
accreditation compliance.
Actively participate in laboratory quality and safety programs.
Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration :
- Cytotechnologist credentialed from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC) preferred.
- Histotechnologist credentialed from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC) preferred.
- Medical Technologist (ASCP) credentialed from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC) preferred.
- Medical Lab Scientist (ASCP) credentialed from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of
Certification (ASCP-BOC) preferred.
- Medical Tech credentialed from the American Board of Bioanalysis (AAB) preferred.
- Medical Tech credentialed from the American Medical Technologists (AMT) preferred.
Education :
Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, medical laboratory scientist, human sciences or education
qualifications as stated per CLIA requirements.
Work Experience :
- 5 years of experience required.
- 10 years of experience preferred.
- 2 years of leadership or management experience required.
- 5 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
Additional Preferences
Laboratory operations and regulatory experience preferred.
Ideal candidate will be traveling to a variety of Ascension Wisconsin hospitals on a monthly basis.
