Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Associate Director of Public Relations to lead our team toward achieving unparalleled success in client outcomes.
This role requires a blend of day-to-day client management, team leadership, and strategic foresight. The ideal candidate will have a proven trackrecord in managing complex PR campaigns, driving team performance, and fostering client relationships.
Ideally, we are seeking a full-time candidate, but we are open to those who may be interested in part time, or contract type work granted those individuals meet the job requirements outlined in this description.

Description
Strategic Client Responsibilities :
- Leads PR strategy and planning to enhance our clients’ market presence and meet the brand objectives.
- Collaborates with agency cross-functional teams for strategic campaign and communications planning for integrated campaign initiatives.
- Provides ongoing thought leadership to clients and regularly contributes to agency’s marketing content.
- Assists with networking and new business development and contributes to RFP, pitch and / or proposal efforts to secure new clients.
- Leads organic growth efforts across accounts, helping junior team members identify opportunities, develop strategies, and implement solutions to achieve organic growth goals.
- Stays ahead of industry developments and incorporates best practices into the agency’s strategies.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with key media outlets, influencers, and other stakeholders.
- Prepares quarterly public relations plans and budgets for assigned clients. Plans are to be reviewed and updated on a regular basis to ensure goals are being met.
Day-to-Day Client Responsibilities :
- Serves as the primary point of contact for key client accounts, ensuring their needs and expectations are met with excellence.
- Develops and implements innovative PR strategies and campaigns that align with client objectives.
- Keeps apprised of clients’ brands / products / services / marketing developments.
- Prepares and delivers client reports and presentations on media activities and campaign results.
- Effectively presents, sells and defends all agency work / proposals to clients; supports other client engagement team members in these functions.
Ensures work maintains intended strategy.
Management Responsibilities :
- Directs / Supervises department personnel, and its contractors, in accordance with company policy.
- Leads, mentors, directs, supervises, and inspires junior professionals, and contractors, by setting a positive example and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Oversees the recruitment, training, and professional development of team members.
- Manages team workload and delegates tasks to ensure efficient operation and high-quality outcomes.
- Conducts regular performance reviews and provides constructive feedback to team members.
- Participates as part of the management team to problem solve company challenges and to work toward the achievement of company growth goals.
Qualifications
Job Requirements :
- Extensive knowledge of public relations principles and strategies.
- Proven track record working with and securing coverage with national media.
- Outstanding public speaking and presentation skills.
- Excellent written communication skills with a proven ability to write in a journalistic style that is customary for external publications and, when necessary, meets client brand standards.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience :
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field preferred.
- 8+ years of related experience required.
- Agency experience preferred.
Physical Requirements :
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
