East West Tea (EWTC) is seeking a talented, passionate, and experienced Compliance Specialist and Auditor to join our Quality team to lead and manage compliance with US and foreign regulations for Food Safety including BRC, GFSI, Non-GMO, Organic LEED, Kosher certifications and others as required.

The Compliance Specialist and Auditor will combine their technical background to drive compliance and offer constructive evaluation of Quality and Food Safety related systems for the Eugene and Eugene affiliated locations.

This role assesses compliance of systems and facilities per applicable regulations through documentation, audits and assessments of fact using documents and records;

assuring compliance to regulatory requirements; and compliance to EWTC policies, processes and / or specifications.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN :

Internal Auditing Program 40% of time

  • Assist global sourcing and / or perform Supplier Audits, both domestic and international, as well as internal audits, including scheduling, executing, generating reports
  • Coordinate with Procurement to track supplier quality performance measurements for suppliers (KPI’s) and participate in supplier performance reviews to assist in maintaining the supplier scorecard

Document Control 20% of time

  • Responsible for the effective management and maintenance of the Document Control Library including policies, procedures, work instructions, forms and standards for Yogi Eugene.
  • Maintains Master Manufacturing Records (MMR) and Batch Production Records (BPR) pursuant to standard requirements.

Corrective Action System (External & Internal) 20% of time

  • Monitor CAR Plan development and implementation
  • Report to management on conformance of CAR implementation

Third Party Auditing 10% of time

  • Organize Lead and Manage all 3rd party and customer audits of the Eugene facility.
  • Assign follow up responsibility and track audit finding corrective / preventive action closure.

Continuous Improvement 10% of time

  • Organize Lead and Manage all 3rd party and customer audits of the Eugene facility.

WHAT YOU KNOW AND HAVE EXPERIENCED :

  • Bachelor's Degree in food science or biological sciences
  • 5+ years’ relevant work history in food manufacturing and / or process and system auditing in lieu of degree
  • Leadership experience within regulated systems
  • Technical writing and flow charting experience
  • Experience managing regulated systems
  • Technical writing and flow charting experience
  • GMP compliance and CFR Title 21 Part 110 (cGMP in manufacturing, packaging, and holding of Human Food) and CFR Title 21 Part 111 (cGMP in manufacturing, packaging, labeling, or holding operations for Dietary Supplements) knowledge required
  • GFSI, BRC, PCQI and knowledge of Food Safety standards required
  • Certified Quality Auditor and SQF preferred
