WORK LOCATION : Grand Rapids Lettinga Campus

DEPARTMENT : Facilities Serv-Transportation

HOURLY RATE : $15.00

SUMMARY :

The Shuttle / Van Driver is responsible for safely transporting students to and from scheduled destinations. Vehicles driven will vary, but will be 14 passenger or less.

These responsibilities are performed in an ethical manner consistent with the Universitys mission, vision, and values, which include diversity, equity and inclusion.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

Responsible for driving Davenport University students to scheduled destinations.

Understand and abide by universal standards of confidentiality and ethical decision-making.

Responsible for completion of (prior to departure and upon return) a detailed check list of engine compartment, lights, interior and exterior components.

Responsible for maintaining the interior / exterior cleanliness of vehicles within the fleet. (This will require the use of a power-washer.

Understand and abide by all external and internal regulations and policies. This includes NCAA, GLIAC and national affiliations associated within athletics or other role specific regulations.

Provides GREAT customer service, anticipating and exceeding the needs of our customers.

Demonstrate and promote the University Cultural Values.

Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Minimum High School diploma required. Associates or Bachelors degree preferred.

Ability to pass a pre-employment background investigation including but not limited to : criminal background check, employment reference checks, and drug / alcohol screening.

Minimum 1 to 3 years of passenger / van driving experience.

Clean MVR (motor vehicle record) required.

Demonstrated ability to work accurately and effectively with computerized data systems.

Ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and promote a positive working environment, spirit of cooperation and positive reactions to change and conflict resolution.

Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, both written and oral, which transcend diverse audiences.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and relate well to students, parents, faculty, staff, and others while maintaining appropriate confidentiality.

Demonstrated motivational and problem solving capabilities with a high degree of integrity, ethics, and dedication to the mission of the University.

Must be able to work an irregular schedule, evenings or weekends as needed, additional hours during peak times or as required.

Ability to perform under stressful situations.

Must be able to travel.

May be some heavy lifting involved.
