Job Description
At Lockheed Martin, we apply our passion for purposeful innovation to keep people safe and solve the world's most complex challenges.
We are seeking an experienced Algorithm Developer / Engineer to develop algorithms for both our missiles and fire control products in one or more of the following areas : navigation, inertial tracking, and image / signal processing :
- The navigation algorithm development areas include inertial navigation, strapdown navigation, attitude and velocity keeping, GPS-Aided navigation including deep integration or other advanced GPS signal processing techniques, non-GPS-Aided navigation, magnetic navigation, star-tracking, pseudolites, visual navigation, covariance analysis, transfer alignment with a host platform, boresight / calibration modeling and estimation, inertial sensor selection and performance modeling.
- The inertial tracking algorithm development areas include extended and unscented Kalman filtering, non-linear state estimation, Gaussian mixture models, information filtering, particle filtering, multi-hypothesis tracking, Bayesian inference, multi-sensor fusion, passive sensing and stereo tracking, angle-only tracking, feature-aided tracking, image tracking, integrated multi-model tracking, low-SNR target tracking, inertial attitude and line-of-sight estimation, contextual data fusion, scene-based event detection, supervised and unsupervised machine learning, object classification, kinematic and radiometric feature estimation, hypothesis testing, and Monte Carlo methods.
- The image and signal algorithm development areas include resolved and unresolved image processing, low signature target detection, automatic target recognition and identification, image correction algorithms, scene generation, hyperspectral image processing techniques and non-uniformity correction.
What You Will Be Doing
In addition to algorithm development, this engineer will be responsible for the development of complex models and simulations, evaluation of system performance in complex scenarios and environments, and the verification of system and subsystem level requirements.
They should be comfortable developing and presenting technical material to internal leadership and external customers.
They must be a highly motivated, self-starter who is comfortable multi-tasking across a number of programmatic and technical responsibilities.
The candidate should be capable of working in a collegial team environment among subject matter experts coming from a variety of academic backgrounds.
They should also desire to work towards becoming a technical subject matter expert in algorithm development.
