Job Summary and Qualification :
The Transport coordinator is responsible for the supervision of daily activities of the unit and staff to assure quality patient care.
To coordinate the efforts of the staff in order to meet the needs of the patients and customers. To increase the quality of patient care by educational and QI programs.
To provide expert knowledge, leadership and education for individuals within the unit. To develop educational programs to enhance the staff’s knowledge of current trends in nursing.
To develop, implement and maintain a quality improvement process for the unit. To perform chart audits for quality improvement of documentation and risk reduction, in order to maintain and / or improve patient outcomes.
To anticipate and improve staffing based on unit needs. To collaborate and assist the Administrative Director and Director in developing and implementing projects that enhances the quality of the unit.
What qualifications you will need :
REQUIRED LICENSURE / CERTIFICATIONS
- Texas or Compact State Nursing License RN required
- BCLS Certification
- NRP Certification
- ACLS Certification
- PALS
- C-NPT within two years of hire
- TNCC & ENPC within one year of hire
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
1. Requirements met for licensure.
2. Preferred healthcare experience related to Transports
3. Minimum two years of experience in NICU / PICU / Peds
PREFERRED EDUCATION, LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
2. Computer literate with excellent documentation and order entry skills
3. Strong critical thinking skills and ability to lead a team and function as a team member.
4. One year of education training experience preferred or experience teaching the adult learner.
5. Ability to listen, empathize and respond to patient, family, internal and external customer’s needs.
6. Encourages team-building efforts.

9. Builds strong relationships with surrounding communities

Reads and writes Basic English.
