UnitedHealth Group's People Team Internship Program is a 10-week, comprehensive experience where students are immersed in UHG's culture and corporate environment.

The internship is a pipeline to full-time opportunities within the organization with 80% of interns historically receiving full-time offers at the conclusion of the summer program.

As a Grad Intern you will be responsible for providing consultative support on critical projects within UHG corporate and Optum / UnitedHealthcare business segment teams.

You will have the opportunity to gain practical experience spanning a variety of disciplines including :

• Organizational design and development
• Change enablement
• Mergers and acquisitions
• Employee relations
• Reporting and analytics
• Talent acquisition and management
• Compensation and total rewards
• People Team technology
• Talent development and learning
• DE&I and sustainability
• UHG Global

In addition to challenging work within assigned internship areas, interns will also have the opportunity to explore the broader People Team community by :

• Participating in enterprise-wide internship programming
• Receiving mentorship from People Team leaders
• Contributing to People Team project assignments
• Networking with executive leadership within UHG Corporate, Optum and UnitedHealthcare
• Learning about career path opportunities within the People Team Community

Required Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university / college
• Current enrollment in a graduate degree program focused in Human Resources, Industrial / Organizational Psychology, Industrial Labor Relations, Labor & Employer Relations, Business Administration, or related discipline
• Active degree enrollment throughout the duration of the internship program (June - August 2025)
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Work experience in human resources or healthcare fields
• Demonstrated ability to take direction from multiple sources, and prioritize work
• Proven effective written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to build trusting relationships with effective interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and execute on multiple projects & deadlines
• Proven deliver results with integrity
