About the Role :

The Well-Being & Benefits Analyst I i s an integral part of Lathams Well-Being & Benefits team. This role will be responsible for ensuring that benefits data and information is collected and managed in the firms Human Resources Information System and assisting the department with a variety of responsibilities relating to specific benefits projects to ensure the services, goals, and objectives of the department are being met, while performing entry of benefits information into the Human Resources Information System, various Excel tracking spreadsheets, and systems requiring appropriate judgment and a high level of accuracy .

This role will be located in our New York office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Flexibility to be in-office more often during the onboarding and training duration is required.

Responsibilities & Qualifications :

Other key responsibilities include :

  • Ensuring benefit elections are complete including, following up with participants to collect missing information, advising participants of approvals, denials, or requests for additional information with respect to medical underwriting requirements, and requesting required supporting documentation, etc.
  • Proactively reaching out to participants and management when deadlines are approaching
  • Communicating enrollments, changes, or terminations with insurance carriers and brokers
  • Providing members with termination and leaver notices
  • Electronically filing all relevant participant information in secured database
  • Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and / or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

Wed love to hear from you if you :

  • Knowledge of the terms and conditions of all US health and welfare plans to ensure the proper administration by insurers and vendors
  • Knowledge of benefits practices
  • Well-developed and professional interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm

And have :

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, with a Bachelors degree or equivalent preferred
  • A minimum of one (1) year of related employee benefits administration experience; a minimum of two (2) years of relevant administrative experience may be considered in lieu of employee benefits administration experience
