Job Details : Purpose

Purpose

Provide desktop administration support for the Advanced Technology Laboratory (ATL).

Responsibilities

Under general direction while focusing on customer service, perform Windows, Mac and Linux computer systems installation, configuration, administration, maintenance, trouble shooting, and end-user support for workstations, laptops, and virtual machines.

Maintain computer systems in accordance with established information assurance policies and procedures.

Assist in deployment and maintenance of engineering / scientific software applications on end-user computer systems.

Assist with computer systems audits for compliance with established information assurance policies and configuration guidelines.

Maintain computer hardware / software inventories.

Document computer system configurations.

Other related functions as assigned.

Required Qualifications

HS / GED.

One year of experience providing end user help desk support in a managed endpoint environment for Windows, Linux or Mac workstations.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a professional demeanor.

Regular and punctual attendance.

Ability to work independently and unsupervised.

Willingness to learn and accept constructive feedback.

Detail oriented.

Ability to closely follow written and verbal instructions.

Candidate will need to obtain a DoD 8570.1 IAT Level II Certification, such as Security+, within 6 months of hire date.

Must work well in a team environment and collaborate on efforts.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Associates degree in Computer Science or related field.

At least three years of experience in Windows, Linux, or Mac enterprise environment.

Current DoD 8570.1 IAT Level II Certification for Security+.

Microsoft or Linux certifications.

Experience w / ITIL, COBIT, NIST, CMMC, or other IT and cybersecurity frameworks.

Salary Range

$40,000-$53,000+ / negotiable depending on qualifications

Employment Eligibility :

Retirement Plan Eligibility :

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
