Posting Summary Functional Position Title POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER / STAFF SCIENTIST Position Number Appointment Type Regular Location-City New Orleans School / Division SCHOOL OF PUBLIC HEALTH Department HIV-STD Program Position Summary The position will be responsible for leading data analyses, literature reviews, preparing manuscripts, and diverse dissemination of findings for multiple HIV / STI prevention research projects.
The incumbent in this position will be a member of research teams working with key populations including gay, bisexual, or other men who have sex with men;
people who inject drugs; transgender women; and other populations at increased risk of HIV infection. Key research concepts include but are not limited to disparities, stigma, PrEP preferences, health-care service utilization and recommendations.
Incumbent will collaborate with research principal investigators to utilize data sets related to HIV risk and prevention behaviors to dissemination findings to a variety of HIV prevention stakeholders.
Additional Position Information The LSU Health Sciences Center School of Public Health in collaboration with the Louisiana Office of Public Health STD / HIV / Hepatitis Program (SHHP) is accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join a team of researchers working on HIV prevention focused projects spanning multiple key population data sets including 1) the CDC funded National HIV Behavioral Surveillance System in New Orleans Louisiana, 2) the American Men’s Internet Study (AMIS) and 3) the Transgender Women’s Internet Study (TWIST).
This Postdoctoral Researcher will work with study PIs (Drs. Jennifer Glick and William T. Robinson) and play a key role in carrying out analysis and dissemination activities including but not limited to developing research questions, data management, data analysis, abstract development, manuscript preparation, manuscript submission, conference presentations, and other dissemination activities.
