Position Overview :
The firm is seeking an experienced Tax Reviewer to join their team in a hybrid role, collaborating both on-site and remotely.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax preparation and review for individual, corporate, and partnership returns, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
This role requires strong technical skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse client base.
Key Responsibilities :
- Review complex individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns prepared by staff
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to tax preparers and junior staff
- Perform quality control reviews to identify and address any tax issues or discrepancies
- Stay updated on changes to tax laws and regulations, applying this knowledge to client engagements
- Communicate with clients as necessary to clarify questions, provide feedback, or offer strategic tax planning advice
- Assist with special tax-related projects as required
- Collaborate with partners and senior management to develop and refine tax review processes
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's in Taxation preferred)
- CPA license or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax preparation and review within public accounting
- Strong proficiency in tax software (experience with Lacerte, ProSystem fx, or similar)
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax codes for individuals and businesses
- Ability to work independently and in a team in a hybrid work environment
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve tax issues efficiently
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with clients and team members effectively
